The Baltimore Orioles have agreed to a Minor League deal with Julio Teheran with an invitation to Major League camp.

The deal comes with a $2 million base salary if Teheran makes the big league roster.

Teheran can battle for a rotation or long relief job with the Orioles.

The Cardinals have agreed to a deal with free-agent shortstop Brandon Crawford, a source told MLB.com's Mark Feinsand on Monday.

The team has not confirmed the deal, which is pending a physical and serves to add some depth to the position behind top prospect Masyn Winn, especially with dynamo utility man Tommy Edman still recovering from arthroscopic surgery on his right wrist last October.
 

Center fielder Cody Bellinger and the Cubs are in agreement on a three-year, $80 million contract, sources told ESPN, ending a prolonged free agency with a return engagement after his excellent 2023 season with Chicago.

Bellinger, 28, has opt-outs after the first and second years of the deal, sources said. He will receive a $30 million salary this season, $30 million in 2025 (if he doesn't opt out after the first year) and $20 million in 2026 (if he doesn't opt out after the second year), according to sources.

The Marlins are turning to a potential bounce-back candidate to be their Opening Day shortstop.

Veteran Tim Anderson and Miami agreed to a Major League contract for 2024 on Thursday morning, a source told MLB.com. The deal, which is pending the completion of a physical and has not been confirmed by the club, is for one year and $5 million, according to multiple reports.
 

The Tampa Bay Rays have signed Amed Rosario to a one-year, $1.5 million contract.

Rosario, 28, will bring a strong bat against left-handed pitching and should get playing time at shortstop, second base and potentially corner-outfield spots.

Liam Hendriks agreed to a two-year deal with the Boston Red Sox, sources told ESPN, a bet by the team that the All-Star reliever will eventually bounce back from Tommy John surgery.

Hendriks' proposed contract will guarantee him $10 million, assuming that he passes the physical examination, with the possibility that he could earn more money through performance bonuses. Hendriks had reconstructive elbow surgery last summer, and given the typical 15-month recovery for that procedure, he may pitch late in the 2024 season, if at all. The real payoff for the Red Sox might be in 2025.

Less than 24 hours after saying he was still looking to add another bat, D-backs GM Mike Hazen did just that as the team agreed to terms with free-agent outfielder Randal Grichuk on a one-year contract with mutual option for 2025, a source told MLB.com on Saturday.

The club has not confirmed the deal.

Grichuk will earn $1.5 million as a base salary this year and the option for 2025 is $6 million with a $500,000 buyout. 

Super-utility man Whit Merrifield and the Philadelphia Phillies are in agreement on a one-year, $8 million contract, sources told ESPN on Friday.

The deal includes a club option for $8 million with a $1 million buyout, sources said. His salary this year will be $7 million, and with bonuses, he can max out at $16.6 million over two seasons.

The Toronto Blue Jays have agreed to a contract with Eduardo Escobar that is pending a physical, according to a report.

Escobar struggled with the Los Angeles Angels and New York Mets last season, hitting .226/.269/.344 with six homers in 309 plate appearances across 99 games.

The Chicago White Sox have agreed to a Minor League deal with Mike Moustakas that includes an invitation to Major League spring training.

Moustakas, 35, hit .247 with 12 homers and 48 RBIs in 112 games with the Colorado Rockies and the Los Angeles Angels last year.

Moustakas was selected by the Kansas City Royals with the No. 2 overall pick in 2007.
